Rising to New Heights _ Long Island City

In 2021, Alexa, Priti and Teresa worked with the Queensbridge and Ravenswood NYCHA community to gather ideas that would inform artwork for a mural series Rising to New Heights along the wall surrounding the Ravenswood Generating Station. We worked closely with local organizations such as 696 Queensbridge and Community Capacity Development as well as NYCHA Tenant Association leadership and Rise Light and Power leadership to reach a wide community audience.
Hundreds of ideas about a greener future were gathered from surrounding residents and employees to help drive this mural series forward.
Queens-based artist, Teresa Yang skillfully translated these ideas into magical works of art that illustrate our collective hopes and aspirations.
